Cocke County
Early Intervention Services
are available through an excellent program in
Cocke County. The DCI Early
Intervention Services are offered to children through a facility which is shared
with the First United Methodist Preschool program.
The Cocke County program in Newport
offers services and
programs for approximately 45 adults and 12 staff members.
Services include
Supported Employment,
Enclaves, Sheltered Workshop opportunities, Work Adjustment, Transition
From School To Work, Personal Assistance,
Community
Participation,
Supported Living,
Group Homes and Family Support.

Jefferson County has many opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.People in need of residential services, may choose to live in a their
own home or apartment with support staff as needed, or they may choose to live in a group
home or a family based setting.
People may request assistance in acquiring vocational skills or job
placement services where they can participate in paid work experiences. Training and supports are based upon an individuals support plan which
is developed by the person and the friends and support staff that he/she may choose.
